How to use the PDF to Excel
- Add a PDF that contains tables.
- Press "Convert to Excel".
- Download the .xlsx file and open it in Excel, LibreOffice Calc or Google Sheets.
How the rows and columns are found. Text that sits on the same line across the page becomes a row. Within a row, a wide gap starts a new cell, and cells from different rows that begin at the same place across the page are put in the same column. This works well for the tables most programs write into PDFs: bank and card statements, price lists, mark sheets, invoices and reports.
Numbers you can calculate with. Entries that are plainly numbers, such as 1,250.50 or -3, are written as numbers, so SUM and other formulas work on them at once. Long digit strings (phone, account and ID numbers) and numbers with leading zeros stay as text, so nothing is lost. The first row of each sheet is bold, and columns are made as wide as their longest entry.
One sheet per page. Each page with text becomes its own sheet, named "Page 1", "Page 2" and so on, so a table that runs over several pages is easy to follow and to copy together. Text outside the table (titles, addresses, notes) comes across too, as rows of its own: delete what you do not need.
Limits. Merged cells, text that wraps onto two lines inside one cell, and tables with no clear gaps between columns may come out split or joined differently from the original. Scanned PDFs are pictures and have no text to place; this tool does not do OCR. To bring a whole document into Word instead, use PDF to Word.

Frequently asked questions
Will my numbers be numbers in Excel?
Yes, when they look like plain numbers (with or without thousands separators). Codes, phone numbers, account numbers and numbers with leading zeros are kept as text.
Why is every page a separate sheet?
Pages often repeat headers and footers. Separate sheets keep each page tidy; copy the rows of all sheets into one when you need a single table.
Can it read a scanned bank statement?
No. A scan is a picture of text, and reading it needs OCR, which this tool does not do. Statements downloaded from a bank's website are usually real text and convert well.
Is my file uploaded?
No. Everything happens in your browser.
