How to use the Add Page Numbers
- Add one or more PDF files.
- Choose the position (for example bottom centre) and the text: 1, Page 1, 1 of 9 or Page 1 of 9.
- Set the first number and the size, and tick "No number on the first page" for a cover.
- Press "Add page numbers" and download the numbered PDF.
Numbers are written onto each page as real text, in a clear sans-serif font, a small distance from the edge. Pages that are turned sideways get their number in the right place too, reading the right way up.
With "No number on the first page", the cover stays clean and numbering starts on the second page with your first number. Combined PDFs from Merge PDF are a common use.

Frequently asked questions
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. The PDF is opened, changed and saved by your browser, on your device. Nothing is sent to File Perks or anyone else, so confidential documents stay with you.
Can I start at a number other than 1?
Yes. Type any first number, for example 5 when the document continues another one.
How do I leave the cover page without a number?
Tick "No number on the first page". Numbering then starts on page 2 with your first number.
Are the numbers part of the PDF?
Yes. They are written into the pages and show in every reader and when printed.
