Privacy Policy | File Perks

Your files

Every tool on File Perks processes files inside your web browser, on your device. Files you choose are read by the page, converted in memory and offered back to you as downloads. They are not uploaded to File Perks or any other server, and they are not stored after you close or reset the page.

The HEIC decoder and the PDF libraries (pdf-lib and PDF.js) are downloaded from this website to your browser the first time you use them. Your files are not sent anywhere.

PDF passwords

When you unlock or protect a PDF, the password you type is used only inside your browser for that file. It is not stored, not sent anywhere and not shown to analytics; it is cleared when you press "Start over" or leave the page.

What is stored on your device

Your browser's local storage keeps only these choices:

fp-theme: your light or dark theme, when you change it;
fp-consent: your cookie choice, only if analytics or ads are switched on.

Clearing your browser's site data removes them.

Analytics and advertising

With your consent only, Google Analytics (to count visits and which tools are used) and Google AdSense (to show ads) may run on this site. Nothing loads until you choose "Accept" in the cookie bar, and you can change your choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer. These services never receive your files, file names or file contents. Google and its partners use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other websites; you can turn off personalised ads in Google's ad settings.

Hosting

The site is served by a hosting and network provider (Cloudflare). As with any website, the provider processes technical request data such as IP addresses and browser type to deliver pages and protect against abuse, under its own privacy policy. File Perks does not receive your files through these requests.

Children

File Perks collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
